Christian Sommer's autumn favourites
In this series, Nordal visits a small handful of places that have chosen to make Nordal's products part of their world - and not least part of the experience you can have as a guest.

Get ideas for your next visit to Denmark's biggest cities - Nordal brings you personal recommendations for art, a crispy autumn tart, a lovely rooftop terrace and surely something else good too, from some of the people who know the city best: the locals.
Breakfast in my own kitchen is overnight oats (porridge I prepare every evening and put in the fridge for the next morning). When I eat breakfast out, it's usually a sesame sourdough bun from Hart, a few minutes' walk from Væksthuset.
A must when you visit Væksthuset is a stroll through our beautiful English Garden. Sit on a bench and enjoy the many wonderful shades of autumn.
The Opera House is Væksthuset's impressive neighbour. I haven't been to an opera myself, though, since I saw Cyrano de Bergerac as a child. It was a fine and very loud experience.
The walk I prefer near Væksthuset starts with a cup of white tea on Væksthuset's terrace and continues out to Refshaleøen, through the School of Architecture, and ideally ends with a glass of orange wine at La Banchina, Refshalevej 141, Copenhagen K.
Well worth it is taking the harbour bus directly from Væksthuset to Nyhavn. Take a walk through Amaliehaven and see one of Copenhagen's best-kept gardens.
Crispy tart with mushroom-stuffed morel, corn, chanterelles and Noilly Prat sauce is my favourite on our menu at Væksthuset right now. Simple, tasty and in season.
A good glass of wine in the neighbourhood is also on offer at the newly opened restaurant Lilac, Papirøen 53, Copenhagen K.

The Opera Park is inspired by several of the capital's green landmarks, such as Frederiksberg Gardens and the Botanical Garden - and also by the University of Copenhagen's garden for natural and environmental sciences (also in Frederiksberg). The planting in the Opera Park focuses on diversity and a wealth of species - and the four seasons are built into the planting. The park reflects six themes: the English garden, the white Nordic forest, the red North American forest, the oak forest, the cherry grove and the tropical greenhouse in the middle of the park.
